Oversized proportions, cables, and the authentic character of pure wool define the Haraboji Cardigan — a timeless piece designed to become a lifelong companion. The cardigan is worked starting from the right sleeve and continues towards the shoulder. The back piece and front pieces are then knitted separately before the work is joined again to knit the left sleeve. The pattern includes both written instructions and detailed charts to guide you through the construction.

When Karoline Skovgaard Bentsen designed for Fremstrikk, the inspiration came directly from the yarn itself. After learning about Fivel and Norwegian wool, she concluded that the best way to highlight the wool’s natural qualities was through cables and textured structures.

The design is named Haraboji Cardigan — “grandfather” in Korean — because it resembles a classic grandfather-style cardigan.
